Facebook-parent Meta expects construction of its recently announced $10 billion Louisiana data center to continue through 2030, with site work beginning this month, Reuters reports.
The AI data center in Richland Parish will be the tech company’s largest in the world and will process huge amounts of data required to support digital infrastructure, including artificial intelligence workloads.
Last week’s data center project announcement came a day after Meta said it was seeking proposals from nuclear power developers to help meet its AI and environmental goals. The amount of electricity used by the new Meta data center in Louisiana will be matched by renewable energy in collaboration with Entergy. Read more.
