Cheniere Energy Inc. expects the sixth train at the Sabine Pass Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facility in Cameron to start up by late 2021, reports Natural Gas Intelligence.
Construction on Train 6, Cheniere’s ninth overall between Sabine Pass and the Corpus Christi facility in south Texas, is about a year ahead of schedule. The company has achieved another 5 million metric tons of LNG capacity — equivalent to a 10th train — through debottlenecking efforts.
The announcement comes during a turbulent time for energy, as the COVID-19 pandemic dampened demand. However, LNG is expected to rebound as many global buyers favor natural gas. Read the full story.
