Lockport-based Bollinger Shipyards has promoted Chris Remont to executive vice president of new construction programs.
Remont will oversee commercial and government new construction programs for the company, Bollinger said in a news release.
In making the announcement, Bollinger President and CEO Ben Bordelon said Remont brings “proven leadership and extensive, diverse shipbuilding and manufacturing experience” that will guide the company’s new construction group’s engineering, business development, bids/proposal, supply chain and program management teams.
“Chris has been a key contributor to Bollinger’s success,” Bordelon said, “and I feel his new role combined with his continuous pursuit of excellence situates our company well in meeting the ever-changing industry demands and challenges in continuing our success in the future.”
Remont has served as director and vice president of program management and vice president and general manager of Bollinger Lockport’s new construction facility. He was responsible for all facets of construction, including planning, scheduling, engineering, material control, quality and production, the company said.
He has more than 25 years of shipyard and manufacturing experience and holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a master’s of business administration from Nicholls State University.
