Report finds industry biggest source of state’s carbon emissions

On July 29, the Climate Initiatives Task Force reviewed an official report on the state’s emissions that revealed that the industrial sector is the biggest emitter of carbon in the state, reports WWNO. The data was compiled by David Dismukes at LSU’s Center for Energy Studies.

The report showed that the top 20 industrial facilities in Louisiana account for more than half of the state’s total emissions.

That means that in order to cut overall emissions and be carbon neutral by 2050 – a stated goal of the task force – industry will likely need to play a big role. Read the entire story.
