Jennifer Granholm, U.S. energy secretary, visited the LM Wind Power wind blade test facility in New Orleans east last week, reports Fox 8 News.
Granholm visited the GE subsidiary’s wind blade testing plant at Michoud, where she learned about 3-D modular blade construction techniques. For 10 years, the company has been building cutting edge wind turbine blades there.
“Louisiana is an amazing place to be able to lead in the manufacture and employment of offshore wind technology,” Granholm says. She discussed incentivizing the wind power industry to fulfill energy needs and bring more jobs. Read the entire story.
