Lexicon Fabricators and Constructors has acquired Steel Fabricators of Monroe to expand its national presence.
The 130 Louisiana employees will join the company’s American Institute of Steel Construction Certified fabricator divisions: Prospect Steel and Custom Metals.
Since 1968, Lexicon Fabricators and Constructors has provided construction management, fabrication, erection, mechanical installation and plant management services. The Little Rock, Arkansas, the company now includes Lexicon Industrial Constructors, Prospect Steel and Custom Metals, Heritage Links and Lexicon Energy Services.
The company has done work on terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing, mechanical installation and more. In Louisiana, the company worked on the PSI Midstream project in 2014-2015, refineries for ALON and Valero in Krotz Springs and multiple projects in Convent.
Established in 1973 by Don Beach and John Hunter, Steel Fabricators of Monroe operates on a 20-acre site at 2101 Booth Street. An AISC-Certified fabricator, its campus includes more than 160,000 square feet of fabrication space and warehouse, training and maintenance facilities. It leverages fully automated CNC equipment, electronic tablets, bar coding technology and the latest fabrication software in its processes.
Steel Fabricators of Monroe is a previous Louisiana Department of Economic Development Lantern Award Winner. It is a long-time partner to the University of Louisiana Monroe School of Construction Management.
