Two Baton Rouge industrial equipment and service firms―Premier Equipment Corporation Inc. and Premier Control Systems LLC―are under new ownership.
Ohio-based industrial equipment service provider and distributor OTC Industrial Technologies announced last week that it has acquired the pair.
Founded in 1965 as J.A. Young and Associates and renamed in 1992, Premier Equipment Corporation (PEC) has a long history of serving the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. PEC distributes various products and services, including rotating equipment, air compressors, blowers and cooling towers.
Its service teams also provide essential preventative maintenance, repairs, and downtime failure analysis to ensure equipment reliability for various industrial sectors. Operating out of three locations in Louisiana and Texas, the company employs roughly 65 employees.
Premier Control Systems (PCS) specializes in designing, fabricating, programming, and installing PCL, electronic, pneumatic, and electrical control panels. Its customers include those in the oilfield, electrical power, and petrochemical sectors. With a team of about 20 professionals, PCS offers tailored solutions for critical industrial applications.
In a prepared statement, Premier Equipment and Premier Control Systems President Patrick Young says the expansion will allow the company to expand its products and services to customers along the Gulf Coast and the Permian Basin.
The acquisition, which includes six locations across two states, will grow OTC’s workforce to more than 2,000 employees. With the additional locations, OTC now operates more than 70 locations and 60 service shops nationwide.
Founded in 1963, OTC is one of the largest industrial distributors and service providers in the U.S. Its brands and divisions include OTP Industrial Solutions, AAP Automation and Air Technologies.
