Officials with the Port of New Orleans have announced that the Louisiana Legislature has committed more than $230 million to port infrastructure projects, reports WGNO.com.
The funding will go toward work on the Louisiana International Terminal, the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor and the new downriver container terminal. Port NOLA leaders said the funding commitment comes following the 2024 regular session for the Louisiana Legislature.
Of the $230.5 million, $150 million will go toward design and construction activities for the Louisiana International Terminal, $50 million will go toward the construction of the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor and $30.5 million will go toward rehabilitation, planning and construction of the St. Claude Bridge.
