BASF recently donated $5,500 to St. Amant High School’s Navy Junior ROTC for its Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program. The donation funds JROTC’s new underwater robotics program called Sea Perch, reports Pelican Post News.
Sea Perch offers cadets in the program an opportunity to gain hands-on experience building and operating a remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The unit is led by Certified Senior Naval Science Instructor Larry Ungar.
BASF’s sponsorship ensures students and educators are equipped with resources to learn about basic science and engineering concepts, tool safety, technical applications, problem solving and teamwork skills in an exciting, hands-on environment. Read the entire story.
