Intertek Caleb Brett, which provides qualitative and quantitative analytical assessment services to the oil and gas, chemical and other commodities markets, is expanding its current inspection and testing services in St. James Parish with a new 5,000-square-foot laboratory.
Located near the Plains All American Pipeline Terminal, the new laboratory is designed to meet demand from a growing crude oil market for quick and accurate turnaround. The lab will provide detailed crude oil quality analysis and testing in accordance with ASTM methodologies and retain services, including indefinite retain capabilities.
This 5,000-square-foot laboratory will allow Intertek Caleb Brett to expand its own capabilities along with the region’s expected growth. With a crew of trained inspectors onsite and reachable 24 hours by phone or email, Intertek Caleb Brett says in its announcement that it will have the capability of providing quick response time for any vessel, shore tank or rail inspection service.
“As the demand for Total Quality Assurance services in St. James grows, we are pleased to have achieved the opening of this laboratory,” Flint Mathes, Intertek Caleb Brett’s Senior Director International Coordination, said in a news release. “This new facility allows us to cater to the needs of numerous parties with a state-of-the-art technology facility.”
