Last week, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved Venture Global LNG Inc.’s request to proceed with full site preparation at its proposed 10 million tons per year export facility in Louisiana.
In making its announcement, Chart says the order for the Calcasieu Parish project is the next step following its previously announced letter of intent from Baker Hughes for the full equipment offering of 18 cold boxes and heat exchangers for Calcasieu. Notices to proceed on the equipment builds are expected to begin in May this year. Chart will deliver the equipment on a multiyear schedule in conjunction with Baker Hughes and Kiewit.
Chart President and CEO Jill Evanko says the company will build the heat exchangers and cold boxes for the Calcasieu Pass project at its New Iberia and La Crosse, Wisconsin facilities.
Venture Global has a 10 million metric ton terminal proposed at Calcasieu Pass along with a 20 million metric ton terminal Plaquemines LNG in Louisiana. The company wants to increase the combined capacity of the two export terminals under development here to 60 million metric tons.
